It’s amazing how people really need everything to have exposition otherwise they think everything is lazy
Y’all need spoonfed way too much
Ugh thank you
Btw bozo, here's the WRITER of the episode talking about it
His choice is revealing the character beneath and the torture beneath – the pain inflicted and the eye-for-an-eye of it all. Vader can’t be talking about, you know, his feelings. So it has to be in action," Harold reveals. "That comes from dragging people down the street behind you to try to pull the Jedi out of hiding, and that comes in inflicting the same pain upon the Jedi that he did to you. It’s awful, but he should be awful. He’s Darth Vader."

Take your L
This says nothing about him letting obi wan go
And more so to my point about him being conflicted
You’re just furthering my point
Vader was about to let his SON get fried by the Emperor in ROTJ and ONLY then, at the very last second, did he finally get redemption
Btw since u enjoy excusing this horribly written show by quoting the movies, the whole premise of Vader fighting Obi Wan is 100% negated by A New Hope..
Nothing about them fighting is negated by a new hope. Head cannon fans like urself just assumed mustafar was their last encounter
I can’t wait till the show is over so y’all can take ur L’s
If I’m wrong I’ll gladly take mine but it’s pretty obvious what they are doing and how purposeful it is storywise
yes we know Vader cant kill Obi Wan in this series. But at least make it a good reason instead of what was showed in episode 3. Like the lady could've shot AT Vader after killing the stormtrooper that was walking to grab Kenobi which would cause Vader to deflect the blaster bolts and have the Droid take Kenobi. Wouldve been more better tbh
So Ewan McGregor is meant to age like Alex Guinness in 9 years? Lol
Since Luke is 10 in the show, right?
I'm too lazy to look it up but someone told me the ages of the actors actually does match up - meaning MacGregor now is 10 years younger than Guinness was at that time

Alec was in the thick of it during ww2 :elon: we don't age like we used to

Yeah its not like Alec Guinness was an old decrepit man in A New Hope either. Ewan with white hair +10 years is pretty close.

Crazy that Hamill was older in Force Awakens than Alec was in New Hope

Darth Vader: I've been waiting for you, Obi-Wan. We meet again at last. The circle is now complete. When I left you I was but the learner. Now, I am the master!
headcanon, right

How does this quote break canon?

theyre probably going to fight again and Kenobi is going to win
How does this quote break canon?
"When I left you I was but the learner"
Cmon now, this clearly implies the last time they met was before Anakin became Vader

He said “when I left you”
Not last time I met you or last time we were together lol
If it refers to him being anakin it still applies because anakin never became a master.
If you start nitpicking breaking canon, SW will crumble storywise because so much of the universe is retconned. For example, how is it that Anakin never mention Ahsoka in ROTS?
So I try to pay little attention to these things and enjoy at surface level these days.

They retconned that too by having her leave the Jedi before ROTS

Exactly

=
I been waiting for this moment again, Obi-Wan. We meet once more. But this time, I feel completely superior to you. When I left you and the Jedi Order to become a sith, I was still a learner, This time though, I am the master in my own right.

honestly I don't care about this kind of continuity s***. I mean if something is glaringly contradictory then yea that'll bug me but I'm not bothered by what you guys are talking about here. if the show was good, it wouldn't matter very much and we could fansplain it however we want. unfortunately the show isn't very good so far.
but I'm still looking forward to Ep 4. I think the show can still get better in the second half.
I thought maybe Vader left Obi Wan in the fire to be rescued because that how Obi Wan left Anakin in episode 3
Could be cope tho

I agree. Honestly I’m really enjoying the show so far. This site has by far the most negativity I’ve seen overall towards it… most fans I’ve talked to have criticisms of certain beats like the Leia chase scene (which I agree with), but are overall positive.
Personally I think the idea of Obi-Wan being traumatized by the events of ROTS and having to rebuild his former confidence and strength makes sense. If he had no character arc to go through and was the same wise sage Jedi throughout I think it would be underselling the impact of ROTS, and would also be much less interesting to watch if he didn’t experience any real internal conflict.
Also I think people have been way too quick to jump on “poor writing” for things like Reva’s character without letting the story play out first. It seems obvious to me that she has a backstory and probably deeper motivations that’ll make her character make more sense. Let things play out and then if you still don’t like the creative choices, fair enough, but give it a chance.
