People have been calling take care a classic since at least 2012 or 2013. Nobody said NWTS was a classic in 2014 or 2015. Wasn't till like last year or 2018 people started acting like it was. IYRRTL is different and irrelevant to this thread. Yes people have said it's his best the same way people said Graduation or MBDTF are Kanye's best. There's different time periods for some fans. Most people saying something like take care is dated or isn't his best probably were in middle school or elementary school when the album came out. Meanwhile people in HS and college call it his best. Same thing with the others.

i witnessed the whole era - classic set in stone

people forget how drake was doing his best wayne impression 12-13 man was killing every feature, every loosie that dropped was fire

if u call take care classic because of the era/impact you can’t nullify nwts - it’s a better body of work, more polished and more diverse sounds. his best writing as well

It had way more than NWTS. When NWTS came out everyone said it was good but not better than Take Care.

Yes I can. NWTS had zero impact on rap. Zero influence. Is it a good album? Yes. There's tons of albums like this. Urban Legend, Late Registration, Carter I, American Gangster, the list goes on. All are really dope. None did s*** for rap. Take Care is an iconic moment with more classic songs. NWTS got what? Hold on? tuscan leather? all me? what else? Take Care got at least 12 classic records everyone knows.

How do you measure impact? In my neighborhood you couldn’t walk down the street without hearing another car playing IYRT during release week.

No big radio singles on there yet still was commercially dominant

Ask your favorite Boston white boy their favorite Drake albums and they’ll tell you IYRTITL 9.5/10 times

Because it was. It had more hits, sold more, and has more memorable songs. Take Care is arguably the biggest rap album in the U.S. since 2010.

If you are actually 24, you should already know take care has more lines quoted from it than NWTS. Ask anyone to name a song off take care and they will name one faster than NWTS.
