This coming from the person talmbout some f***in "minimalist lyricism"

Minimalism is what it is tho lol

Wtf is pleb filter? Sounds like 4chan s***

  • Also to answer your question @op I still have a hard time choosing. WTMWSO used to be my fave out the 3 but it switches between that and Yeezus constantly. Both artists worked with producers that I was a huge fan of and took risks with their sound.

I think they're tied for me for separate reasons lol

Those are great albums but I personally feel like TLOP's variety puts it above those albums. It's like a culmination of everything Kanye has tried in one body of work. It's the most Kanye album that Kanye has ever dropped

If you can read above a fifth grade level and understand context clues you'd see I said "abrasive" and "scare the ho music".

Figure it out bud it ain't hard I promise.

I used to really be on the same page but I just like yeezus so much more. I agree it's a huge combination of everything he's done with elements from each album

I think the hate it gets is overblown a lot of the time

It’s a great album but it takes bits of those first 6 albums but still doesn’t mean it comes close to what he did on those albums. An album with songs like Waves and Facts on it doesn’t feel like it could be considered his best work

Yeezus by far but it was also the beginning of the end tbh

After Yeezus felt like everything after was just a victory lap in terms of music

  • Jun 18, 2023

    Yeezus.
    Watching movies
    Born sinner.

After one week of listening it was pretty clear. Hasnt changed in a decade

So I used to have the critique of Yeezus being bad lyrically but honestly a lot of it has aged phenomenally. You can remember highlights like New Slaves, Blood on the Leaves, Black Skinhead, Hold My Liquor, On Sight, etc more than the highlights of both Cole and Mac’s albums. They just hold more weight and Yeezus did more for music than both of those albums and that’s just a fact.

Kanye himself lost that singular direction in his albums after this because of multiple things including fatherhood, him getting into fashion (shit he spent 80% of his press talking about what happened with him getting into the fashion world lmao he barely talked about the yeezus songs like that) and of course his marriage to Kim.

The fact that Yeezus is like 10 songs and you named about 1/2 the tracklist as highlights really does speak to it's staying power. That's why I don't believe in this instant "classic or trash" mindset we got. Yeezus was too abrasive for 2013 mainstream music, but it hits now lol

  • The Mac miller sound aged and im just a j Cole hater power trip and crooked smile are classic though

Think that's how Kanye treated it tbh

The last time he was working on something perfect was around his sessions with McCartney and then something changed and Pablo happened. Idk what that is, but it just did.

Yeezus is still about 20 years into the future so that’s #1

Born Sinner my favorite Cole project so that’s #2

Watching Movies is what finally got me into Mac. Amazing album. But #3 for me

  • Comparing Yeezuz to born sinner is an insult to yeezus

  • Jun 18, 2023

Yeezus and it’s not even close.

IMO MBDTF doesn't sound like his previous albums at all

It's a very unique high-luxury sound. I can't really name any albums that fit that kind of theme. Maybe Teflon Don

  • Jun 18, 2023

Enjoyed WMWTSO more so I'm gonna pick that
