Also women make 98 cents for every dollar men make when account for field and qualifications
Last i checked 98 cents =/= 1 dollar
Def couldn't be the result of forced gender roles and a patriarchal society definitely not
A variety of deeply engrained sociological reasons. Whether they are "correct" or not i do not have an answer
Why should i bother stooping to this level of childish debate on a hip hop forum with troglodytes who would rather sling fecal matter from the shrubbery than engage in proper intellectual dialogue?

society values the labor of women less and therefore the "fields" they choose generate less pay, why is that difficult to understand

Because the "value" ascribed to particular jobs is determined by the forces of economics and not by sociological factors
yes?
was there something I got wrong?

do you acknowledge that men are perceived to be more 'powerful' and better in positions of power thus often get the much higher paid jobs within most industries?

Perceived???

I mean, the reason men get the higher ranking jobs more frequently is a lot more complex than simply the perception of their competance in such roles but go off i guess

let's discuss it then.
what do you mean by 'go off'?

Nothing really.
So im in business school right now for an MBA at one of the top canadian universities. The average salary of a grad from my program is around 100k per year right after graduation. My cohort is about a 70/30 male female split. It is well known that the administration wants an equal gender spread and it is lower standards for acceptance for women than men because so many more men apply. What can the program do to get more women to apply to this expensive training that will train you to manage large companies? You cant force women to seek this degree out. If they want to go to nursing school instead, then they can.
The fact is that far fewer women persue such high ranking rolls in the first place and the reasons for that are complex and deep rooted.
It is probably true that women who do persue such rolls do face some stereotypes, but those cannot explain the vast differences in persuits chosen by men and women to begin with.

now offer me the sources.
you acknowledge there is an issue with the perception of women, but do not think it is much to do with it. they should just go and do their nursing.
but why are women struggling to gain positions of power in other industries? why are there so few women in politics for example?
