As much as these white/white washed critics try to dismiss discred and devalue this nigga artistry and as much as casuals try to act like he’s completely trash, NOBODY with a respectable rap opinion (actual rappers, black/black culture adjacent hip-hop heads with big platforms) has ever come forward and said “this nigga GARBAGE/CANT RAP”

Like with all the opinionated OGs in this culture nobody is just like “this nigga is ass and can’t rap for s***”and they have no reason not to if they actually thought that. I seen one dumb ass in the comments saying Wayno was “doing it for money/politics” when he praised Iceman but that makes zero sense because if that’s the case he would speak positively about everything he does which obviously isn’t the case. He and everyone else has no problem criticizing every little move he makes but for some reason they never cross the line of flat out saying Drake is bad at rapping because they know he’s not lol.

Even his ops have never said that one time. Sure they may poke fun at him and criticize him for having “ghostwriters” (which they all know stems from a few reference tracks being leaked and is common practice in the music industry to generate ideas for hooks and concepts and is something that casual music listeners don’t understand) or they may attack his character but not one of them ever was like bro can’t rap, not Kendrick, not Push, not Budden, not Meek, not Hov, not Common, not Ross, not nobody. Most of them wouldn’t even consider getting in the ring with a rapper that wasn’t somewhere near being their equal skill wise regardless of whatever the personal gripe was.

That being said, I’m thoroughly convinced that not respecting Drake as a rapper from a skill perspective is a rap comprehension problem, if you can’t respect his rapping ability you literally don’t understand good raps. And anyone who understands good raps and understands what Drake brings to the table as a rapper has no choice but to say Iceman is a great project for him. 8/10 minimum unbiasedly, 7/10 minimum if you really hate the guy and wanna be hard on him or feel like he beating a dead horse with the beef talk. Anything less and your rap opinion card should be revoked
