Any love for Centipede Hz era over here?
Made a playlist of that album that incorporates that era’s B-sides:
Who’s willing to listen
we got them playing 2 shows back to back at my job, i'm excited; not too familiar with their music to be real
Damn
Jealous of those who get to attend their Feels Live shows
It’s a mini-tour (only 4 dates) happening the 2nd half of October @op
They’re gonna play the Feels album in full
never understood the love they get
they got a few songs I really like but thats it

Put Merriweather Post Pavilion on in full and report back

it's weird because i like the songs themselves but something about the way it's mixed/produced is so ugly it's hard to describe lol i almost never go back to it
some great tracks though for sure

I see what you mean; the mixing feels muddied on CHz (a stark contrast to the smooth clinical sound of MPP).
As for the production per se, I recall them saying they titled the album 'Centipede Hz' cus the songs sound like they have many moving parts, hence the centipede imagery.
I was a real AnCo head back in the day and I remember stumbling upon this song:

Avey Tare shared it on some blog/website right before CHz era started, and he said the song was introduced to him by Geologist, whom Bradford Cox originally shared it to.
When I listen to said song, I can hear the influence it’s had on CHz. And this influence has made me appreciate CHz more, concept-wise. (The whole album that "My Time" is from is incredible btw.)
Even though I’m a CHz lover, I will admit I’m slightly more into the concept than the execution tbh.
