@browser has a point this should serve as an eye opener for us as a people to take a deep look at the state of hip hop media (shoutout to @TuxedoMask thread a while ago)
Maybe more of our “pro black” black artists give more light to lesser known black journalists and media companies for starters.
Easier said than done cause that’ll be a hit to nigga’s promo but we underestimate our star power so goddamn much. Should be no reason why popping artists in this new era should be still going through breakfast club for example.
everything about you makes sense now lol

Honestly, at least they give a f*** about Hip Hop. Too many people out here put way too much effort into not caring or appreciating the artform.
In an era, where there is a burgeoning diversity of Hip Hop like never before. It's sad how people and consumers don't put much effort into focusing on the diversity and instead put forth attention on just 1 or 2 styles on a commercial level.
Offtopic but the periods: 1995 - 1997, The Early 2000s, and 2011 - 2018 have shown that you can make this happen imo. We're just too narrow minded unfortunately.
You might be narrow minded but across many aspects like in person, social media, and awareness of funding other communities but there is definitely a resurgence into insulating and empowering the community
Whether you all believe situations like these are feeble attempts at "activism," they're obviously examples of effective collectivism because enough people vocalized a thought and have been rewarded with a response and acknowledgement
Hip-Hop is definitely more than an art form, it's intellectual property that's cultivated and inherited by the soul of a people

Nothing changes if nothing changes.
All this is fine and dandy but where are the black voices?

Ofc it's French

cancelling instead of finding Black people to incorporate is very telling. the disingenuous "NY based" and "founder of media companies" criteria are just dogwhistles to avoid doing so
