People really think they’re doing something by calling out heads of companies for being performative. In reality those company heads want nothing more than for this “woke” movement to blow over so they can go back to ignoring POC

Like sure it’s not genuine but better to have them give opportunities to POC in fear of being cancelled than to leave them unchecked and nothing gets done

Just my opinion of course. I could be looking at it the wrong way

But I think there will be instances in the infancy of empowerment/equity movements that these sorts of overcorrections will happen and I think it's healthy

Much to your point of accountability for visibility is a key point to focus on. Like the people in defense of the entities itt, are overextending because at times like these is best not to tell your peer how to feel

I'm on the side of pressing s*** in situations like the one in the op being genuine because it is a valid concern
