Im feeling this way as well. Still loving the game though.
Yeah, don't get me wrong, awesome game. Combat feels much better and smoother than the previous 2 games; loved the Ninja style, the semi-open world actually works pretty well, but something about the third area was not hitting for me. Still looking forward to the DLC(s) for sure.

First area seem to be the most fleshed out one
whoever said ninja mode is easy mode is lying their ass off or simply playing a really broken ninjutsu build
ninja is good for the beginning where learning all the stances might be a bit too much, now i just use it to keep my distance and recover ki
i was pretty much ninja only for 80% of the first region, but ever since i‘ve switched to samurai the fights are so much easier and rewarding. it‘s really not even close
now imagine if ninja style had 3 stances just like samurai
i get why they didn‘t do it though

Ninja is for when I make to move fast and overwhelm
Samurai is for heavy damage and deleting health bars
just finished new game at level 148 so really close to the 150 cap. did everything possible, 100% every region, all battle scrolls, got the platinum. gameplay record says 114 hours but that seems like insane cap to me. probably in the 70-80 hour mark if I had to guess
I think the hardest part of the game was the latter half of the second map where the bosses pick up a bit and you probably still haven't really made a build and still experimenting with weapons
going into the 3rd map I just decided what weapons I was gonna use and crafted some armor to fit those weapons and I pretty much killed most bosses in 1-3 tries
this was my first nioh game and I know everyone seems to say NG+ and beyond are essential but I generally don't fw NG+ in any game so idk if I'll be on that. I'll see
overall great game though I had a ton of fun. easier than khazan but just as fun imo

Never underestimate the total time spent afk and browsing menus lmao.
NG+ apparently has a whole new gear rarity and alternate spawns for enemies. I’m usually not into replaying games but if the NG+ provides a different enough experience then I can fw it
I’ll report back my findings
Okita soji is pure artificial difficulty… all the human fights in this game are really so bullshit

You should be swapping back and forth between the forms, but ninja mode trivializes the bosses due to the low ki drain and broken dodge. Maybe it depends on your equipment weight, cause I’m using light armor and one dodge takes me halfway across the stage

yeah i know i‘m not playing the most ’efficient‘ way but i don‘t enjoy the tonfas for example even though they can delete bosses
i’m rocking the iga-jonin set so i‘m in the blue for ninja and the dodge is fire for sure, but i still prefer a perfect parry
it just comes down to preferred playstyle at the end of the day
this is my first nioh and i think i‘m better off using samurai to sharpen my stance switching skills, as i want to try out the cestus for my next playthrough
game is fire either way, i just made that post as samurai started to ’click‘ for me after smacking baba nobuharu
final boss, first try
last area was getting to be a bit long in the tooth, but other than that had a good time!
on Hiruko now, tried around 5 times, this might take a while lol
so much going on in phase 2, Im all over the place
Can anyone with a Pro confirm, PSSR 2 looks amazing with every other game but i think it broke Nioh 3, any time you move the camera all the foliage and grass on the screen flickers like crazy. I don’t think it’s PSSR tho cause it doesn’t happen in Rise of the Ronin
finally starting this
