So is the Switch Pro cancelled or what

It’s definitely real, the question is just when it’ll be officially announced. We still have this upcoming week before E3 starts, so there’s still room for a pre-E3 reveal as some reports have suggested. If not, it will supposedly be revealed shortly after.

Either way, Nintendo’s E3 Direct is only 9 days away now so I don’t really need any other big announcement to hold me over until E3 anymore, so for all I care they could wait until after E3. I just need to see BotW2, that’s my main priority.

Tbh I fw Splatoon. I think that game has a lot of potential. It has to have a bit of a lower skill floor imo though to really have a competitive scene. Waaaaay too hard to grind out s*** imo

feel like the Switch Pro might get revealed at Summer Games Fest on Thursday. It’s the night before most of E3 starts, still means devs can announce their games for it in the few days after and then they can open preorders and capitalise on that E3 hype over the weekend

Imo its either next week for 3rd parties to show their pro enhanced games or first two weeks of july like with switch lite

I wouldn’t say low skill ceiling. I watch the competitive scene a lot and it can get pretty intense. Especially the ranked modes. Turf war is not that good for comp.

the difference between people playing with sticks and motion is pretty big too. People have to get over that barrier first

Floor is different than ceiling. The ceiling is great, it’s really easy to understand the premise of the game but it’s there is a high degree of skill you need to compete and be really good. I’ve watched competitive Splatoon a bit and recognize that.

My issue is with the floor. In order to “compete” you need to grind out certain stats and s*** similar to Pokémon which makes the barrier to entry arbitrarily hard. If they made the ability to customize your things a lot easier and less tedious, I think it’d be a lot better IMO

sorry for late reply but I think it’ll drop when switch pro drops, which if the news is true about it really going into production/assembly this month, then for sure a fall release incoming

if botw2 and switch pro drop late september or early october that's close enough to christmas for everyone to be happy but also far enough that they could have a bundle drop mid december for people who didnt get one at launch

i think Pokemon Legends gave it away that we will have the Switch Pro before 2022
