Switch at 80m sold
Speeding past all other Nintendo consoles. Just went past 3DS both in lifetime hardware and software sales. Man this thing actually gonna outsell the Wii.

It’s gonna overtake the Wii this December, the end of next fiscal year at the latest. And that without an official price cut. Profits are through the roof.
An end result over 130M is basically set in stone, 140M+ likely.
Also the Switch will have the biggest year for any stationary console ever. I always thought the PS2 sold more, but it just had a longer tale than usual. Its highest fiscal year performance was 22,52M.
MK8D is a f***ing beast, every year since its release was bigger than the last, with 2021 already on the same track based on numbers from Japan. It’s a port, with no additional content, bundled only on Black Friday and Christmas in some regions. At this point it must be the most profitable game in history, maybe behind GTA5. Also Pokémon Sw/Sh is the first Gen to hit 20M since Gold/Silver. No 3D Mario hit 20M before. BOTW almost tripled the bestmark of Twilight Princess, Mario Party showing sexier legs than Beyoncé for gods sake.
There are so many more milestones. Smash Bros Ultimate 10M more than Brawl, Mario Maker 2 > combined 3DS + WiiU version. Luigis Mansion selling faster than Mario Galaxy 😂.
A piss-poor port of 3D Mario games scratching on the 10M mark.

"planned numbers for fiscal year 21 : more than 26M"
They must have some interesting games to announce if that's their prediction.
Btw, insane numbers, we gotta remember they put these numbers both hardware and software in just 4 years. If the sales keep being this strong they're gonna delay and eventual switch pro launch, they dont seem to need it yet to push sales
These numbers show that nintendo doesnt need to lower prices for their hardware and software. As much as i want them to make a nintendo selects, they're still going strong, with many series reaching their best numbers this generation
Last thing: i still cant believe botw sold this many copies, im so happy my favorite gaming franchise of all time has gotten this much success
Wait i just saw pikmin 3's numbers
Suddenly nintendo has started working on a new pikmin title

They don’t even need a Switch Pro tbh, regardless of how nice it would be to have one
It’s probably still coming though. Too many signs.
Before we even talk about a potential Switch Pro, Nintendo have to talk about ZELDA’s anniversary THIS doggone month, not later

If you read my post above yours you'll see that switch pro is confirmed! We just dont know when they're going to announce it

I mean they haven’t denied it, they just said that they are not planning to announce anything soon when they have Mario and Monster Hunter coming in Feb and March. Or are you referring to something else they said? I do believe in a Switch revision coming but I wouldn’t say it’s officially confirmed yet, but probably will be after March.

It means they arent announcing in february or march since they're focusing on mario 3d world and mh rise (the latter of which has a special edition of the original switch). This means they plan on announcing it between april and march of next year. It may not sound like great news but last year they straight up denied working on an improved version of the switch

That’s true, they do sound more positive now compared to last year when asked about a Switch Pro. Just a matter of time now. Fiscal year ends on March 31, along with all them Mario 35 games/offers being taken off of shelves. Switch Pro announcement sometime after that. I am excited. But first. Zelda 35 please. 👀

Im thinking they might release botw 2 this year since they're predicting 26/28 million for hardware sales. If they had no huge games to announce they would've had lower expectations

Yeah, I think so too. Pokémon games (besides Snap) should be announced this month as well so that's gonna boost hardware besides Zelda. Then it's still only February and we don't know a darn thing about what's coming after March besides Pokémon Snap, so there's plenty of time for many more announcements throughout the year.
Switch Pro announcement and preorders will be this year but will come out March 2022 with Zelda BOTW2 as the console seller
followed by MarioKart X, Metroid Prime 4 and Super Mario Odyssey 2
there are way too many games coming this year from so many different franchises that i cant see them dropping a Pro yet
