No matter how much i try i cant get into monster hunter lol, looks good tho!
is it the style of combat or lack of story?
Finally got Hades, really great so far
im a supergiant stan but hades didnt do it for me
combat felt nice enough but i thought progresion was too slow and samey for a rouglite
but IMO Transistor and Bastion are maybe the best stories in gaming (havent played pyre yet)

really its basically a MMO, u need some friends, accept that part of the joy is grinding for armor sets and set aside period to pay just that
or maybe its just not for u and thats cool too :)
i guess i meant like
dont compare them directly as World will always look better
but yeah as far as mechanics, very much alike
How does the new engine feel?

Style of combat, it sucks cause i love the concept of killing huge monsters but i cant get behind the combat system. It still looks quality and better than those ive tried on 3ds tho

As far as this genre goes for recent releases Spelunky 2 is my most played and that has basically no progression between runs, so this was a nice change of pace.
This is also admittedly my first Supergiant game, I need to play Bastion at some point

Yeah its not for me unfortunately, tried many monster hunter games but i could never get into it, still looks dope tho!

Combat is THE best part of these games. What a shame

bastion gameplay isn't that good but the story has an amzing emotional payoff
transistor is a straight up masterpiece but the first 2 3 hours can be boring an slow
but like i cannot reccomend these enough i usually dont have the patience to play games and finish them through but these really stuck with me and i really love them so i hope you do too
Btw i just realized how crazy it is that a monster hunter demo crashed nintendo's servers, this one might sell a lot in the west too
Also its probably the best looking 3rd party game on switch, love how it looks and it runs smoothly for what the switch can do

Japan always carried this series but ive never seen eshop slowing down for a demo before
Aight i replayed the demo and did a mission and while i still dislike how slow movement is im digging it more. The new mechanics and no loading times between areas are a blessing and make it better than the ones ive played
Edit: nevermind im trash i dont understand how this game works

The key is to let them attack, dodge them, and then attack for a little bit before they begin attacking again. A lot of monster hunter is learning how monsters move and what their attacks are like so you can predict where their head will be positioned at the right moment to land an attack. It’s not for everyone but I feel anyone can figure it out after putting in some time. S*** I only started playing the series 2 months ago and I already figured out the theory behind it, even if I f*** up in practice a lot. It’s definitely a game that you need to be patient on tho

Yeah i get it but for some reason i dont have enough patience for this game while i do with souls like games. Like i hate that the character moves so slowly, dude takes ages to pull off an attack
Had no issues with the easy mission but the cool dragon is impossible to beat for me

Yeah I tried the dragon once last night but he f***ed me up good
That lazer move kept getting me, got to get used to the wirebug to dodge it

Yeah im still trash with the wirebug, tried to use it on him and i kept failing horribly
Also that dragon is too fast for me, it kept moving so much i was getting really frustrated

If you can get used to the gameplay it has the potential to be a goat switch game, but demo is not beginner friendly, tutorials dont explain everything you need to know that well so get ready to rage lol
that's fine. I know monster hunter is a deep game.
Then you're really gonna enjoy it, game looks great!
