Personally I think Odyssey, Sunshine, and 64 are better than any Zelda game ever made so it probably just comes down to preference since both series are such high regarded and have classics.
To me Mario is better probably but I think both series are overrated simply because there’s a lot of filler or games I don’t care about as well as all the good ones.
That’s rough I Don’t think zelda has many filler games. The only ones I don’t care for are 1&2 lol
The more I think about Nintendo exclusives the more I realize that a lot of Nintendo series are not for me as a whole.
Star Fox hasn’t been good since the gamecube
Kirby hasn’t been good since the gamecube
Metroid fell off after Prime 3
Donkey Kong needs more 3D games
Paper Mario fell off after SPM
Only Nintendo series that are consistent to me are Smash, Mario Kart, and Pokémon but Pokémon is trending downward.

Have you played the 2D games? Some of them could be better.
I also have a grudge against Skyward Sword

The only zelda games I have not played are the 2 oracle games which Ive been meaning to try forever ago, four swords adventures, link between worlds, and triforce heroes.
Mario Kart is the most easily accessible, mainstream title, with broad appeal to kids, adults, non-gamers, etc.
That’s why it’s top selling
Zelda is obviously the best series. Their magnus opus is breath of the wild, an astounding feat with hundreds of hours of fresh content, hundreds of puzzles, and a breathtaking open world. And obviously ocarina of time is one of the most influential games of all time. It effected all 3d games from there out.
The hundreds of puzzles got repetitive real quick

Four Swords is one of my favorites, get on that

When I finally get away from this s***ty laptop to something that can run dolphin I’ll get on that

now I just have to find the motivation to play I’ve been struggling to pick anything up recently
need some more mature games from Nintendo which i know is practically impossible and a pipe dream but one good kojima tier game would really set s*** off for Nintendo or hell draft Akira Yamaoka over to make sum sick even tho he's working on that "medium" title for xbox.
All I want Is Ocarina of Time and Majoras Mask on switch, that’s not too much to ask for.

I just want a not mid main series Pokémon game. S*** is tragic bro

StarFox DLC on Starlink was a nice taste i bet we'll get a new one soon enough
i agree we also need a 3D Donkey Kong asap
u alrdy know we are getting a Prime 4 and that Retro and Nintendo are putting their all into it
a new Kirby is a matter of what gimmick works best and then hoping the story isnt for 6 year olds
I just bought a Switch Lite last week and I haven’t had this much fun playing games in so long.
I can barely put Marvel Ultimate Alliance down. I was a fan of the old games in that style, especially X Men Legends so this is like updated nostalgia! I beat it already and now I’m doing the DLC and just leveling up characters.
I bought Fire Emblem and I’ve started playing it. I like it so far. It’s the first Fire Emblem game I’ve ever played. It’s different and I didn’t think I’d like it at first.
I bought BOTW as well but I haven’t played it yet. I want Astral Chain too! I’m also tempted to buy DBfighterz and NBA 2K even tho I have them on my PS4 already lol.

I mean, unless they stop upgrading their online service (not likely) ... then N64 is next in line and those seem like obvious choices
I think you could get your wish by the end of 2020 tbh
Should I stay away from Sword and Shield? The consensus seems to be its mid but I just want a decent Pokemon experience. It doesn’t have to knock me off my feet.

From what I’ve heard, it’s decent and provides a pokemon experience, I think it just wasn’t the leap forward people had hoped for, its “more of the same” (not my words)
For the 1st ever mainline console Pokémon game people expected a lot, I think
I’ve heard good things about the upcoming dlc though

I was exactly like you, I just needed a Pokemon fix on my Switch and it did just
It's not the greatest game of all time, but it's still a decent and fun Pokemon adventure and I was pretty satisfied with what I got out of it

you should consider other games before u rebuy stuff. Dragon Quest 11 is good but its a turn based rpg. trial of mana just came out, an arpg. deadly premonition soon, dark souls if u never playd that, dragons dogma

It’s definitely more than capable, I think you’ll have fun with it. The people that were disappointed seemed to be the ones that hyped it up to a level it wouldn’t be able to fulfill
oracle games are really fun

Whichever one had that f***ing goron dancing bit is the worst game ever
