I know Jas Prince was supposed to receive a sort of finder's fee lump sum following Drake's first deal with YMCMB. Don't know how/when that eventually got resolved but otherwise, the J Prince family hasn't been in Drake's pockets. They're like family to Drake. I guess J Prince's reputation must precede him but unlike some people think, no, he doesn't extort money from Drake. J Prince is an OG to many dudes including athletes, actors, etc. He looked out for many of them on their rise and so they return that favor in respect and regard for his family.
As for Birdman/Baby, when Drake was still under contract with them, they'd be the ones Universal would send the funds to and so they'd take their cut before Drake eventually got his. Under his current deal, Drake gets paid directly.
Most people seem to not understand how most industry label contracts work. Most artists are signed to a subsidiary of a major label. That means that the major label gets their cut first and then the head(s) of the subsidiary label gets theirs and then the artists get theirs so really unless you're like Drake who now owns his masters and releases his music under his own label but licenses it to Universal, multiple people are touching the money you earn before it ever gets to you.
