Some of the things they introduced were straight up goofy in the 2nd half of the season (the whole jigaboo s*** with Dee)
Ruby’s arc was good in that one episode but the longer that situation went on the worse it got.
This nigga Tic was making these nutass “I’m mad!” Or “I don’t like what I’m hearing!” faces. What he was doing is typical for stage actors because you’re told to project for the people all the way in the back but it’s ridiculous in a close up on a TV show.
It’s the worst Michael K Williams performance out of any of his HBO roles.
And using Emmett Till’s death as a narrative device is one of the most distasteful things I can recall seeing on TV.
It has some beautiful moments and really good episodes but in the end it was like 500lbs of s*** in a 100lbs bag
2nd half of the season was the best part of the show. Everything is starting to come together BUT I haven't finished the finale yet.
For Dee's episode with the Jigaboo The specific cops are involved in the whole thing. With him not being able to go inside Leti's house because her house is protected from magic. And the cops placing a spell onto Dee because she wasn't telling the cops on what they wanted to hear so he's punishing her and giving her a walking nightmare. Everything plays into account and it doesn't happen for an unknown reason.
Michael K Williams acted his ass off because his character portrays sorrow and mistakes Don't compare his past acting to this one because he's in a different scenario in those other performances.
All throughout the show is portraying black history, it's just either in easter eggs or you might not catch the references.
