Most players, especially the big stars, don’t use team doctors as their primary doctor. They have their own.

It’s not a team doctor’s responsibility to diagnose and treat a player for cancer or any other serious disease like that. The team doesn’t employ oncologists and specialists.

Williams brought it up to them 6 years ago and they diagnosed it as a benign cyst. And at the time it’s entirely possible that that’s all it was.

It ended up turning into a very rare form of cancer.... you think an NFL team doctor is responsible for making a diagnosis of something like that??? Team doctors are there to diagnose and treat muscle and ligament and soft tissue injuries, not rare forms of skin cancer

This is the type of thing you get 2nd and 3rd opinions on and something you should have checked up on routinely. Especially when you have the money and resources like Williams.
