I know we all don’t have to like the same things but you can’t possibly believe Blinded lights is among his best work lmao I don’t even know if it makes it to the middle of the pack in his discog. What in the trilogy series is this even close to? It’s not even better than the worst song out of that body of work.

I said this earlier but when you compare it to what he just gave us with MDM, it feels like a complete regression. That record was a masterpiece. Even for a relatively short project, it’s some of his finest work and probably the first time ever we’ve heard him be truly vulnerable and, dare I say it, human on a record. It felt like a real shift for him artistically and an organic evolution both sonically and lyrically from some of his previous work. As if the ice and cloud of mysticism surrounding his persona had finally dissipated and he’s forced to reconcile with the real emotions that come with a bad break up. These by comparison feel absolutely flat in every conceivable way. So incredibly unremarkable that I might as well have not even heard them in the first place.
