All this situation has really revealed to me is how vicariously our community lives through those we perceive as being leaders or having a platform that we don’t and how in the end, it only serves as a distraction from the reality of our actual plight in this country.

2nd of all it can be true but doesn't mean you have to be a condescending d*** about it to the people who you come to work with every single day

This a very small example but I remember I saw a clip on Twitter about how the First take crew was discussing I believe the Chargers vs Chiefs game last season and he said something about Hunter Henry been killing it all year long but nigga was on IR... He got completely called out for it and STILL tried his best to say no I meant this... Every time he's wrong he hits you with that, "no y'all missing my point"

I agree with him on this issue tbh. The backlash is honestly nonsensical to me, especially when you consider the amount of support he’s given to Kap both onscreen and off. I legit read someone suggest that he hasn’t done anything for the community in a long time when he’s spent the past couple months touring and donating money to HBCUs (which btw, aren’t as “black” as one would think in terms of funding but that’s a whole rabbit hole you’ll have to explore for yourself) The point being is for people from our own community to bring into question the authenticity of his blackness strictly because his opinion differs from the collective is asinine. But it does highlight what I think is the fundamental problem with our communities inability to get on one accord and that’s the difference between thinking idealistically and thinking realistically.
