Early returns looking good, however y'all can highlight where I'm coming from. Chan Gailey is garbage and you're hoping he gets replaced. If he gets replaced by someone who has the offense humming, the natural course of the league is that OC eventually becomes a HC elsewhere. Can't really do anything about it either because you're not firing Flores unless if he starts f***ing up

This why having defensive-minded HCs not the move in the modern NFL

Does that limit your pool? Obviously, but you don't want to be bleeding too much from the brain trust during later hiring cycles

works both ways

Offensive minded HC's are useless without a top DC. Usually those DC's get poached as well and they are left trying to rebuild their defenses

Perfect example is Rodgers. He's hardly had a good defense during his career in GB and its a big reason why he's only been to 1 super bowl.

A lot of the time there's a lack of talent on defense to go along with s*** coaching. Only time I'd really lean more towards a defensive coach is if I get an established vet at QB who can hold his own. If it's a young guy though I'm taking an offensive minded coach every time.
