Well you never know anyone is "for sure" the best player in the class (I think he is) but I think sometimes we overthink positional value and end up drafting for need over BPA. If Downs is as good as we all expect him to be, who would look back on trading up for an elite player and have an issue with it? For the Dolphins specifically, they can't fix their roster this offseason and it's a weak class in general imo. They can trade up to 7 (if there's any truth to that rumor) and still have another first round pick thanks to the Waddle trade. You need good players, simple.
