Bingo. I think the answer was two-fold in the sense that they saw Wentz go down off the Clowney hit and then the guy behind him was...a 40-year-old Josh McCown. They got caught with their pants down. Carson has gotten nicked up so they value the QB2 spot higher. Nate Sudfeld is somebody they like, but he's never played a game and doesn't have the talent Hurts does. A guy like Flacco has played but....like I said, we seen Joe Flacco play. They probably felt Hurts has upside they can mold in case of injury and still feel better than other backup options.
