And that’s why I understood why some in the league felt like Simmons is kind of an overrated prospect, which I’m not saying he is but their reasoning wasn’t crazy
I don't think he's overrated. I think if a smart DC finds the right role for him he can be elite. Right now, however, he's a positionless player and that's not a recipe for success in the NFL like a lot of people think it is. People seem to forget that Jabrill Peppers, who was far more "athletic" in the traditional sense of the word than Simmons, played 8 positions in college and played both side of the ball. He's an average safety as we speak today
Bottom line is Simmons has more bust potential than the rest of the other guys drafted near him because there's a chance he never finds the right role/position whereas the other guys don't have that disadvantage
Being a "positionless player" in the NBA is a ticket to a max contract
In the NFL it's nowhere near as rewarding

Exactly, but for some teams I feel like they wouldn’t really know how to use Simmons and would just leave him as a 3 down linebacker which is good but it’s not great, definitely not top 5 pick worthy like the majority of the media believes he is (I do too given the right DC)
Teams feeling like Simmons is “too versatile” sounds crazy but it’s not lol given what we both agree on, he’s not a great safety either

Fax Taysom Hill should be getting paid

No, he really shouldn't
That was literally the opposite of my point how did you derive that from my post

It's just that the versatility never translates, and that was basically most people's main talking point as to why he should be drafted that high
Panthers fans have literally had Shaq Thompson starting for their team for 5 seasons and somehow don't understand this
I could see the panthers being real bad too
Panthers p much doodoo, which is good since i need them to get Trevor at all cost
Secondary still poo, but i have a feeling they'll look into that in the next rounds.
Bengals
division is stacked tbh
If they are again they may get pretty good compensation if they trade out of #1 since they won’t be taking Lawrence.

Looks like they're working on building an elite pass rush, which is the best way to mask a shaky secondary
Chinn was a great pick, especially given where you guys got him

Yeah i like all the picks the panthers have made so far. Cant rlly complain at all.

Matos and Burns 🥵
If Brown lives up to the hype that’s nasty, would’ve taken Simmons though tbh
