These guys know it’s a business and that was the right move. Cano doesn’t have it anymore plain and simple. He can go rake in the Dominican league.
I mute myself for 10 days and ofc the mets throw a no hitter
I knew after he got boo’d for trying to leg out that double the other night that cano was done
I have not felt this good about a mets team in my life. This is better than that 06-early 09 feeling. You can tell Buck is really the glue holding all of this together
I don’t think this will hurt the clubhouse as much as some Cano fans think. I can see him def being a leader but he’s not the only leader. Plus winning heals all wounds.
nah we have a clubhouse full of guys that have been around too long to be whining about losing a guy like that. I know Lindor said he wouldn’t like it but we got way too many 30 year olds for this to be an actual morale hit

Feel like that was a political response from Lindor too tbh. I feel like if they asked about Dom or Luis he would’ve said something similar.

I was just thinking.. fingers crossed but they remind me of that 06 team where even tho they ran away wit the division I don’t think they ever swept a series or atleast they didn’t sweep many series. But they WON damn near every series they played. Felt like they had the formula, win game 1, lose game 2, with the rubber game. Or something to that effect.
But tonight tho, this series will be big. Honestly I’ll take a split and be happy. Braves always play the Mets tough

Yeah exactly...this team hasn't even lost two straight games yet...in 06 the starting pitching was so potent throughout the whole season but began to falter towards the end of the season, and it only really started to reveal itself in that LCS. Its insane how much heavy lifting pitchers like John Maine were really doing throughout the second half of that year.
Can't forget how many late inning comebacks and walkouts they had that year too

Facts honestly if the Mets staff stayed healthy and on point I think that NLCS goes a lot different. Niggas forget Pedro was lights out his first I think 10 starts until he got hurt. And they kept finding pitchers that somehow made it work. Shoutout El Duque!
Also - I was initially salty about the new black jerseys not having the blue piping down the buttons, but it looks way better given how bold the colors are on the Nike jerseys. Nice to have some history attached to them now too

like I said in the MLB thread
season starts today

Yeah I like them better without the piping tbh, separates them a bit more from the older black jerseys

I miss the piping personally just cause now the jersey looks like a shirt instead of an actual jersey to me lmao. but it’s cool, rather have this every so few fridays than the blue jerseys

aint no reason why a nigga using roids should be a leader, multiple times at that

Ever since Johnny Peralta got a suspension only to sign a 55M deal that same winter with the Cardinals the only time morality comes into the PED discussion is when we're talking about players entering the HOF, sadly.
For a player like Cano who probably wouldn't have gotten in anyway the positives outweigh the negatives if a spotless legacy isn't your top priority. I dont think it needs to be either and in many cases I get why players of that caliber and lower juice

I’m just saying, idk if I could view someone who uses peds as a leader, not to mention he’s ass

I feel you but I don’t think the players care much because they are in the league. Besides theee guys either came up watching Cano or playing against so I can see how they would still have some affinity towards him.

Man they just need to let them in. If you spoke to a lot of the guys who played in the “pre roid” era I’m sure they knew plenty of players using whatever for an advantage. MLB only started targeting it once the heat from the feds started coming down.
wtf lol
https://twitter.com/anthonydicomo/status/1521260611581136896So f***in stupid so I guess the Metsnoitchers are the only pitchers who intentionally throw at batters lol and he didn’t even get thrown out of the game because the umps didn’t think it was intentional not to mention it was the f***in 9th inning
