here’s what I think we NEED to do in order to be a better team next year because we can’t be the same team again:
1.) re-sign deGrom (if he ultimately chooses less money to go elsewhere then good riddance I guess)
2.) re-sign Diaz
3.) blank check to Judge. his arm would be an insane upgrade to the outfield. it’s an automatic run for the opposing team if they have a runner on second and there’s a hit to center or left field. having Marte CF and Judge back at RF would be immensely ideal
4.) sign back 1 of Bassitt, Walker and Carrassco. (i’m choosing Walker personally)
5.) maybe try to to trade for Ohtani but i have no idea how ridiculous that trade package would have to be so idk maybe just wait after 2023
6.) start the young players, give them the chance to play big league ball and develop cause they have the talent for it (Baty, Alvarez & Vientos)
Just saw SNY post on the on the gram the rumor is the Mets might not bring Tai back.

hope they do, he showed me more than Carlos Carasco this season. Walker dueled with Justin Verlander this season

yup that’s where i’m at too. that catching position rn is a deadspot. need alvarez to stay up here and learn to catch major league aces

i mean so did max and we not saying trade him. matter fact, bassitt shouldnt have been in a position to have to be pitching a win or go home game.

we going to have restrictions with batter taking time outs during plate appearances next season so maybe he’ll be better!!! re-sign him but don’t leave him as our 3rd starter tbh

if we can upgrade then im here for it (carlos rodon), but we just have way more other pressing issues than 3rd starter. bullpen, catcher, and dh to be exact.

imma come clean i just really hate the way he is on the mound. shake’s off constantly and s***. just feels arrogant to me like as if he knows so much and all you know what i mean?
and then his comments talking about “in new york a team loses two or three in a row and the worlds falling apart” like dawg you can’t say that and s*** the bed in the two biggest starts of your career probably

you could argue the rotation is our biggest need. only SP guaranteed to return currently is Mr 43 million so

I don’t think catcher is a need. Can’t really move McCann, Nido’s staying, Alvarez needs to be close to ready for Opening Day.
of course it’s a position in need of upgrade but on the list of things to do I’m not even sure it’s on it

If they could unload jd davis for vogelbach they can unload mccann for someone slightly better than vogelbach

It is definitely on the list especially since Alvarez probably won't be ready for opening day. Catcher position has been a rally killer all season long.
SP will be a focus if degrom leaves and I'm thinking he stays.

right but at least with Nido you can say there’s value in his defense. Plus there’s really like 4-5 good offensive catchers in the entire league? It’s def low on the list.
