Looking at Mikal Bridges and what we gave up for him...painful we could've used those assets for this off season

Up to the players to speak up atp

Brunson verbatim said Thibs is the right guy, idk if there's a bigger co-sign then that

  • Jun 1, 2025

We literally just finished Top 3, the needed changes aren't as drastic as y'all make it out to be

  • Jun 1, 2025

Thibs for Sam Cassell isn't gonna win us a chip, more bench depth or Giannis for KAT will do us better

If we can't get Mike Malone or maybe Bud there's no upgrade at the coaching spot available for the roster constructed the way it is

I want a younger coach with an offensive scheme, no reason to have KAT and not have plays that get him open looks. No reason to not have any 2 man game between KAT & Brunson.

Mike Malone is deadass another thibs, Denver fans had the same complaints about him as we do with Thibs. They won that chip off the brilliance of Jokic.

    Bud? Hell no

The team isn’t built to be a defensive muck it up type of team, we have an offensive roster and they don’t play to their potential on that end

Yea it’s tough to justify it even tho he made some big plays

Those 5 picks were the ultimate cash in move and it kinda feels wasted on a guy we can get the same out of from someone else for way less

I don't know how people watch this season, especially the post-season, and think Thibs still deserves to stick around next season. I've never seen a more clear as day "table-setter" kinda coach.

I think he’s on the hot seat going into next year but I don’t see them firing him in the offseason given we made it to game 6 in the ECF

I know its a long shot but would've been useful for a guy like Giannis

Ultimately i think taking it to Game 6 might save his job but agree hes in the hot seat and probably wont get fired but lets see...

Personally, if he's on the hot seat going into next season and that can lead to him being fired mid-season, you should just rip the bandaid off now and get a new coach who will install a legitimate modern day system for this roster that is very clearly built for the modern day NBA.

Five years of Thibs as the HC of the Knicks, and I just do not see him changing any of his ways. This man glued Landry Shamet and Delon Wright to the bench for f***in Cam Payne...this man continued to close with the same starting lineup that has been killing us since January...this man was playing Josh Hart for 35+mins despite him having no offensive game, defense being horrid, and killing momentum with ghastly turnovers.

I've never seen a 67 year old coach get so much protection despite never winning a championship or making a Finals in his entire HC career...I really don't f***in get it man

I’d love to see them “promote” him to the front office and then we get a modern coach, but looking like he’s safe according to some reports

    Unserious organization.

All because fans can't get over the fact that he was better than Fisher, Hornacek, and Fizdale...as if those were high bars smh

It's like people can't accept that Thibs is a table-setter for this team. That's completely fine and there's no shame in it. You need guys like that in your path to winning it all. But he ain't taking them to a championship. And that isn't based off this postseason alone, it's based on this entire season, and even his entire tenure with the Knicks.

Slow to adapt to what's happening in game. Favoritism of players who are hurting the team (Elfrid Payton, Alec Burks, Josh Hart). Stubbornness. Repetitive and predictable iso, iso, iso offense. This just isn't the kinda stuff from a coach that will win you anything.

Thanks for helping to turn the team around and the four playoff appearances in five seasons, and even our first ECF appearance in 25 years. But I've seen enough of Thibs as the HC. I have not seen a single thing from him in his time here that suggests he's going to change his ways.

It's moreso because he was the associate HC during our turn around and had received praise from Brunson along with IQ and Randle when they were on the team. Also was called "vital" by Donovan Mitchell, Dame, and Westbrook during their development when they went to his skill camps when they were on the come up.

No idea why there are Knicks fans who are so against bringing him in as a replacement to Thibs. You'd think it'd make sense to bring in somebody who already has experience with the organization and expectations from fans, and has a good report with your franchise face.

Last year we was really good defensively. Just had too many injuries in the end.

Last season our playoff starting 5 was Brunson, Divo, Hart, OG, iHart.

Now tell me what changed that caused us to be terrible this year?
    Kat and Bridges

Kat is terrible when it comes to defensive IQ. Was always back pedaling whenever Turner set the screen for a shooter to stop and pop from 3. That's how Nesmith looked like Reggie Miller/Game 6 Klay in game one. Kat and Brunson don't gel together offensively. They both take turns iso-ing. Towns is terrible at setting the screens for Brunson and is not a back to the basket player which mean guys that are smaller than him can get away with guarding him. He's a really good shooter though.

Mikal is just a slightly above average defender mainly due to his large wingspan lanky arms. Outside of that Hali was blowing by him easily and he always gave Hal enough room to shoot the 3 comfortably. Game 5 was the only time he played Hal decently. On top that he wasn't providing the scoring we needed from him. Those 5 picks officially was not worth it for him. The Nets fleeced the s*** out of us.

We need people that play defense and have good defensive IQ. Also need real shooters, meaning players that are automatic if they are wide open for 3, not the hot and cold mfers

People want to fire Thibs, but Knicks bench is not good. Tight rotation was the best. Brunson and Towns on the floor at the same time compromises the defense since both are bad at it, but we need both on floor for scoring. You see the dilemma Thibs is going through?

Oh well in Leon we trust. Never thought I'd see the day the Knicks would make it to the ECF so I'm happy with that
