You should care that the guy you drafted at No. 8 only got 15mpg and then moved for just two second round picks when they have shown they can either be a starter, been a quality backup, or at the very least could've netted you another FRP.

That is just clear cut god awful asset management. And also shows that the FO and HC are not on the same page when it comes to how players could/should be utilized whether it be for development or as a means to potentially flip the players for a star. You want young players on your roster to have SOME sort of actual value so at the very least you'll be able to package them up in order to upgrade the roster.

No veteran player who is still capable of playing is gonna ride the bench for two seasons. That'd be career suicide and limit them to cheap vet minimum contracts for the remainder of their time in the league.
