carlos slimim really glad he seems so self-aware of it. i mean bipolar is a real thing and Ye definitely exemplifies the behavior of mania. and it is true that people in a manic state aren’t (or kinda can’t let themselves be) aware of what they’re doing.
When Ye first got on the nazi s*** I kinda clocked immediately that he’s really just stuck in this pattern of doing what people say he isn’t supposed to. I mean he has this whole image of being a crazy rockstar type of artist always doing wild and disrespectful s***. and this image has led him to a LOT of success. It kinda tracks that, in a manic state, he would say f*** it and just go allll the way in on the “i do what im not supposed to and im wild and im disrespectful”. That s*** has really only ever been positively reinforced in Kanye’s life, and in a state of mania it makes sense he wouldn’t really be able to tell when he took it too far.
Am I saying we should just forgive Kanye like that? no. I mean if ur hurt by his actions it’s totally fair to hold that against him. And I’m not gonna start jacking his post TLOP discog just bc it turns out he’s sorry for bugging out.
but i do take this as a sincere apology, and if Ye really takes care of himself now and demonstrates that he’s not wylin anymore than maybe the good times will come back

Yeah tbh i had the exact same thought, This sounds like the most cohesive, sincere and thought through thing Ye has said in nearly 8 years
