I got this s*** on repeat right now. I was a stan from HOB up until BBTM, and liked and hated what he's made since. Heartless was underwhelming to me, so I didn't stay up for this release like I did on Wednesday...

But this is GREAT. I'm thrilled if this song is any indication of the direction the album is headed in. This song coupled with the aesthetic of the singles is doing it for me. This nigga really knows how to reel you in smh. This a HIT

I love pop music but I really dislike that whole notion of the hook of the song having to come back faster and more frequently as the song progresses, so the second verse gets cut short.

You missed my point.

I don't care what he's saying. To me, it disrupts the flow of the song. If it's your first few times listening and you're following along to the structure, you wouldn't expect the hook to come back as quick as it does and it might throw you off.

It doesn't really matter, just something I've noticed about pop music I wanted to point out lol

beautifully bright, sad synthpop greatness. sounds very personal as well imo yet still universal. thats what the other writers are there for though.

his voice is so f***ing good man. fits like a glove with this type of production

im expecting starboy on crack vibes now. starboy is his best album though and i always wanted hm to expand upon that sound if he was gonna keep doing his pop stuff. glad hes actually doing it. and he employing great artist for production too like opn and kavinsky.

Starboy is my least favorite but that may be because I'm a fan of ALBUMS as bodies of work. If I was just looking at it as a collection of songs showcasing an artist's talent and versatility, I may evaluate his projects way differently. But the trilogy and Kiss Land (even BBTM) felt more focused and refined. I'm hoping he's back to that.

i thought the same. i suggest you listen from front to back once more. its a very cohesive, well thought out album. i have absolutely no clue why its so underrated
