Is underground being disrespected once again?

I think this is the biggest disconnect between where hip hop is moving towards and what labels want hip hop to be.

Bruh replace osamason with che man ... He's leagues ahead

  • Bad Bunny, JENNIE, Kendrick Lamar

Bruh replace osamason with che man ... He's leagues ahead

The thing is Osamason is the one that’s influencing ppl he clearly influenced Che for rest in bass like he was hanging around Osama a lot before doing that xav did more agressive rage stuff cuz of osamaseason/flx and he basically caused the shift of the sound of rage to the more noisey agressive stuff next to Ken but osama’s stock is going up while Ken’s going down. I could put both tho but like also u even see nett biting both of them sometimes. Both are big deals tbh. Che prolly has more potential esp w his versatiltiy

The underground rn feels like a concentrated effort to rid hiphop of its black roots and I hope it never crosses over

Even calling it "the underground" gentrifies it. A bunch of teenage nihilists assuming the title of where the actual substance of the genre was located. And that was across racial lines

Yeah it’s gross that it’s the name. What they’re doing is the complete opposite of everything underground meant to hiphop - a swath of diverse and substantive raps doing things that the mainstream didn’t have the balls or worldliness to - now it’s this vapid pop trap noise from and for privileged little suburban f***s with no connection or care for what hiphop is as a culture

I’m sick of niggas acting like this is some oldhead s*** or being out of touch. As someone who’s more in touch with this s*** than I’d like to be, ima just take anyone calling this an oldhead outlook as them calling me a nïgger atp

The thing is, the outrage only fuels it. Look at that "underground cypher" with 2Slimey and all the attention it got compared to the On the Radar cypher that was legit raps.

But the SoundCloud rappers and their fans opened this door. Gotta own up to it now I'm afraid.

  • And the content is just as destructive as drill or any of that shoot em up bang bang s***. Enough is f***ing enough, get that bullshit out the game. And these blogs and grifters and desperate for white teen approval ass washed up SoundCloud era rappers are still tryna make it fetch with co-signs

    F*** outta here

  • Tecca being anywhere near a leader is insane work

Singing over Neptunes type beats is all it takes nowadays
