The idea everything has to be bloated open world trash is so funny to me

Yup, casuals have been brainwashed into believing they’re not getting their moneys worth unless the game ships with a massive (empty) world and 1000 checklist busy tasks to sink away time. I think they’re slowly starting to realize that they don’t actually want this though.

Only a small handful of devs can actually create engaging open worlds. The rest of them should stick to handcrafted linear games with open-areas. That’s truly the best of both worlds.

Do people see mafia DE and mafia 2 as open worlds?

I don’t want empty stupid bloat but driving to a mission, having a safehouse, having a city that acts as somewhere you can explore IS mafia to me

If mafia DE or mafia 2 was solely the mission sections with no driving to places, no getting out of cars to walk around, no cozy wonderfully designed cities to drive around in, I wouldn’t like it as much.

In the PAX panel, the hanger president guy said that it is linear, not an open world.

Then he said in regard to the linear-ality it’s like mafia de and mafia 2. If you liked those you’ll find this very familiar

So what is it!!! Is it like uncharted 4 where it’s set missions with some missions that have sizeable hubs or are you freely driving to missions still like mafia 1-2

I mean I played it a couple years ago for the first time. It slapped.

Yes, the gameplay was repetitive as f*** but was a fire open world game

The new mafia game is less than £40 here pre order assume the story may not be that long/much to do

70-80’s Vegas was the rumor about 4 for a long time. No idea if that ever had a solid source though

Doesn't require a massive time commitment...depending how short it is this may not even be worth the cheaper price. Disappointing if this is the case
