He used the mental slavery point that Kanye used
Live look at Cole calling Kanye a coon
i think first set of bars are about her but he also touches on the general topics such as police brutality, wealth inequality, and racism which he handles very well
This track lowkey directed towards black women who are rightfully upset about what happened to Olawutoyin and I gotta say Cole just need to sit this one out forreal. When you understand the frustrations of black women, and the situation(s) that led to them feeling this way...nigga pipe down and let them vent. Because it is very much well deserved.
🎯
Noname is not better than Saba you f***ing crackheads
what the F*** is wrong with y’all
"Meanwhile niggas bout to throw hands irl"
Who?

Noname hate weird she way better than saba’s mid ass
Calm down both of them are great
She ain't got an album on the level of Care For Me though
Chance got complacent and big headed.
Noname struggles with her reach and audience plus being a black women in the industry doesn't serve her well.
Vic went off the rails early on.
Chance got complacent and was willing to die on the "The Big Day is great, y'all just want to hate" hill, when in actuality the album was garbage.
Noname makes music the only appeals to white hipsters and got upset because she wants her music to be appreciated by a black audience. And yes, being vocally black and female in the industry doesn't serve her well.
Vic Mensa just became a f***ing weirdo.
Do you think that was his intention or do you think it just came off that way?
it was his intention my g.

Its not about that at all. Noname called cole out for not doing anything like a week ago lol
J cole seems upset for being called out but at the same time recognizes that he needs to do better. Weirdly defensive but not a rant.

might be bad timing because of that murder but i dont think that's the case he's referring too
its still the Floyd stuff and protesting. Assuming the June 4th date on the notes graphic is prob when he wrote it too...right around when Cole was protesting and then still felt he didnt do enough
Anyway this song is trash idk why y'all hyping up a tone policing anthem lol. this whole song basically the classic "i agree with you but dont agree with how youre conveying your message can you please tone it down"
if this guy doesn't like it then songs a banger
How was it dumb
I had three conversations including one with Marc Lamont Hill and they all shared the same sentiments. That celebrities distract from the cause if they don’t say the right thing so therefore their resources are important that their obvious opinion on a subject thy have talk about at nauseam.
Kendrick and Cole has given 100x more money that Noname to the cause. She thinks because she doesn’t have the receipts that she can critique their way of dealing with situation. It’s counterproductive.
