where did this come from? who lied to you guys
Not a fan of Garvey?
Much of Marcus Garvey's politics come from a standpoint of black capitalism, and personally I don't really agree with the idea of capitalism regardless of who is doing it. However don't let this stop one from being interested in it because it does have its pros, I just feel like black socialism is the way for us to go.
All that aside, I will say because of Garvey's black empowerment and black independence stances he is certainly worth studying in that regard. Though I do advise to not fall into the trap of Pan-Afrikanism because that does have its faults, and in this day and age the idealogy of "Going back to Africa" isn't really relevant anymore. Back in his time I can certainly get down with that idea, but currently I don't think that will really solve much.
throw in marcus garvey and booker t washington
I do have some of issues on some Garveyism, but I do feel he is certainly worth reading on so sure thing, will add.

I feel you man. The politics of his time were definitely different than now and he was a pretty egotistical figure. But in terms of radicalism, I'd say he's up there so just figured he deserved a little mentioning.

I mean...reading works written by black women on black political thought, gender, radicalization will most definitely aid in niggas respecting women more. Like it really can only help
