He tried to soften the blow with how he delivered it and I think with the time that has passed it’s not that bad
Like it seems obvious that the line is really more about the Grammys themselves than her, and how she was the darling for a little bit and how those kind of artists get more accolades. I’m not sure how she will take it but I don’t think he was that wild to say that because there’s some degree of truth there, there’s no reason the jazz artists in 2008-2012 should’ve been cleaning up at the Grammys while more relevant music was snubbed

Giving album of the year to Graduation over a 2007 Herbie Hancock album wouldn’t be catering to toddlers, it would just be more reflective of actual impact and greatness in real time
They shouldn’t “cater to toddlers or what’s hot” but they also shouldn’t have had such a heavy bias in favor of “traditional” “respectable” musicians
