I don’t listen to any rapper you mentioned because they’re not good
Damn that sucks bro, I got a lot of good recommendations you can check out if you’re ever interested
I don’t bullshit with my music tastes, as an artist (mainly R&B and rap) this all I got. So when I see someone super talented who cares about their craft and actually crafting a quality song and at the same time they’re super popular right now and have watched them grind from the bottom and never switch up or compromise their sound or just go with the flow of what’s popular, I think it deserves some attention especially here since we all love music. Just tryna move away from the ian’s and nettspends which conversations only come with confusion, what is this crap, this hard/mid, etc. and focus on actual artists with subject matters, deep productions, and an overall welcoming sound for larger groups of people to enjoy together. This was just one recommendation, forreal lmk if you’d like others. Salute
ktt doesn't talk about fat dudes
This site is literally named after a fat Nazi, what are you saying rn
Yea Ian and the others are def unique and good. Let’s be real a poppin new street rapper not being discussed here is not because he’s not innovative
Man that nigga BigX is STORYTELLING on each song and flowing so well and his ear for beats is dope. I thought that was part of the art of rap, your ability to maintain a topic over a verse and chorus. Idk what ya’ll be hearing man. Man displaying what it means to care about this rap s***. I can’t even put together an ian verse that tells me anything about the artist or gets me attached to them, literally just like him cause he sounds cool and can say a few funny bars. I don’t get it man but to each their own

Centering the whole argument as "Ian vs bigxthaplug" is disingenuous and funny. There's way more layers to what's going on here
Bossman dlow is good for example if we talking new street rappers, but there's a lot of similar dudes rn, could throw big yavo in there too
I mean I listen to Key Glock, and he's only gotten three threads this year. He was popping more often on here two years ago. It's just traditional street rap that's decent.

If he switched his flow up he’d be allot better. Just feel like every song I’ve heard it’s the same and it’s already been done before him allot
I’m actually starting to have this same qualm with Bossman Dlow
Why is that? Why we talking about ian and nettspend and not actual self made rappers grinding to massive success
ya’ll come check out the thread on bro and support this quiet, not so quiet, success! He’s been next
Edit: week 2 holding steady at 46k

https://twitter.com/talkofthecharts/status/1910117192701714765bro I've been tryna put KTT on in the sales thread lol. This album is phenomenal
when a rapper or artist just checks off all the boxes in a non flashy way, there's not really much to say about them other than the music is good.
that's what makes s*** considered mainstream, there's no boundaries pushed.
Take somebody like Charlie xcx where in the beginning of her career she was just a target soundtrack pop star like the rest of em, and now with her recent albums like brat and others she's doing something unconventional to be talked about
the formula goes for all artists, some just do it sooner or later, or not at all
TLDR: the nigga just too mainstream and basic for me to care fr
One of the best story telling songs from the new gen
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xA59TgXyuX0Responding to your other comment as well, thank you for doing the spreading the word bro. I get not enjoying the sound, but to minimize that s*** to “he’s just another copy” is so wild to me and really makes me wonder what people hear? Compared to the artists they prop and engage in multiple pages about. Like do we enjoy hiphop or do we enjoy different sounds and dynamic ranges with a lil bit of “hiphop” attached to it?
Why is ian doing 08’-16’ trap sounds on his recent 2 projects mixed with a lil bit of 2093 yeat on his most recent project better than BigX? Cause they trying a new sound? Thats all it takes today? To me, BigX sound is fresh cause I don’t really hear those type of beats anywhere else. It’s very grand and his raps/storytelling can get pretty captivating and are super motivating. To each their own tho, I’m not tryna argue or tear down what people like. Just tryna understand the reasonings cause they don’t make sense most times lol
Never heard of him honestly ill tap in
Check out “the biggest ep” and his Amar album. Lmk what you think bro. Saturn Dayz tho….
I do wonder what a forum centered around very inoffensive, contemporary hip hop would look like
