I'm realizing now relistening to Family Matters there is an actual chance that the Fake Mole thing is real (at least to a degree) but there's some other s*** behind the scenes going on

people keep saying FM was a response to Euphoria, but this can't actually be true; FM was clearly written at the time of Push Ups because you can hear the cross-fade in the track at the end of the track is lampshaded in PU as existing. You could argue it was rewritten after Euphoria, but this makes little sense given the existence of the music video. It could have been re-recorded, but is there any reason to assume this when in PU he's already alluding to the track existing?

In FM he already has info pre-responding to Euphoria (and 6:16?); particularly though there's the line "you digging for dirt, should be digging for proof" - Genius has this "annotated" as a response to Euphoria, but why would you make this assumption if the track was clearly pre-existing, as well as the fact it's a supposedly a reference to a generic line? this is also moreso to the degree 6:16 in LA dropped which makes the claim of the mole. that was the same day however - and euphoria was 3 days earlier - so unless they redid the song AND the video in essentially a few hours, it's impossible Drake would be responding to it

of course the question here is why would Drake drop this not knowing MTG was coming, but I think the answer is Drake actually misplayed his hand. I think he assumed he could overshadow anything from Kendrick by him having fake info as well as embarrass him by making it look like the claims were ridiculous - he just assumed public opinion would be on his side vs the inverse happening with story of adidon.

this leads me back to when i kept thinking about the MTG cover given that the only way kendrick could have received it was either A) it was fake or B) he literally committed a federal felony for beef. but then i realized, this + the fake mole aligns; the reason why he wasn't scared to post it is probably BECAUSE IT WAS KNOWN AS BEING FAKE AT THAT POINT. I think both sides played each other here. The fake mole thing was probably true but kendrick saw public opinion on his end and realized he could say whatever s*** about Drake and "win" (in court of public opinion) regardless of the claims Drake made. i think drake thought kendrick would drop more so he wanted to wait to respond with the "mole" thing, but by that point the pedo claim s*** happened (separately)

tl;dr it's likely there was some level of trickery going on w/ Drake which is true but also likely true kendrick realized it at one point himself but thought drake misplayed his hand so went ahead with it anyway

this is the only way i can reconcile all of this at once, otherwise there's too much that makes no sense

I think its too little to late on that part, the damage is done. He should have moved better after meek. Ross and future and them been using him for hits over the years is prolly the nastiest thing

One thing tho why not post the proof on IG stories or at least release it? It would be a nail in the coffin for Kendrick
