Basically, in Mother I Sober, Kendrick talks about how his mom kept asking him if his cousin was sexually abusing him. Kendrick kept saying no, but his mom never believed him. At the end of the song, he talks about how he found out that she kept asking because she herself had been sexually abused. But Kendrick talked about how it f***ed with him and traumatized him.

So Drake says “Mother I, mother I, mother I… oh wait a second, that’s that one record where you say you got molested.” And what Drake is saying (and this is what went over most Kenny’s fans heads purposefully in my opinion because they don’t think Drake is capable of having depth to his lyrics) is “Yeah Kendrick you say that you weren’t molested, but just like your mom didn’t believe you, I don’t believe you. You’re getting on MIS and you’re saying you didn’t get molested but your actions right now are saying differently. That’s why you’re projecting this pedophile s*** on me just like your mom projected that s*** on you.”

But most Kendrick fans thought Drake just completely misinterpreted the bar. And I guess that’s possible, but for something that is so obvious from the song MIS itself, there’s absolutely no way in my opinion that Drake could so egregiously misinterpret that.

What he was doing, in my opinion, was a) flipping the pedophile s*** back on Kendrick which in and of itself is crazy he was able to do but also b) causing some deep trauma for Kendrick to resurface. Those two things combined is what made it such a nasty bar flip in my opinion.
