I personally don't think this excuse flies with Drake unless it's something serious like an Aaliyah or Bob Marley sample or someone who has a controlling estate. And even then I remember seeing somewhere that he lost a ton of money for Don't Matter To Me, so he can get these expensive samples cleared if he REALLY wants it. I think it's just a matter of how much he's willing to pay for this one and I'm guessing not that much

We never thought he's get any of SFG or loosie samples cleared and we got SFG and Care Package in the same year. He probably still hasn't made the money back but he did it for us. He can do the same here I'm sure of it. I know that might be asking a lot tho
