I don't think people realise how big it was listening to Meet The Grahams STRAIGHT away after Family Matters, even if you weren't there in the moment. The next morning that's what everyone did.
Sure there were some Kendrick fans doing mental gymnastics acting like Kendrick heard Family Matters early and had the reply ready... but to the average person, it completely squashed Family Matters, with how dark and personal it was + especially with the "daughter" reveal... and before people had a chance to think a bit more about things BAM! I agree with what you're saying but idk - the general narrative that people have is usually what sticks. I don't think we'll see a massive revisionism, unless ofc there are more tracks to come.
I think years from now a "you're a pedo" song on the classic discography of Kendrick will sit horribly, but in terms of JUST this beef, it'll unfortunately be remembered by "Not Like Us"
