I think drake got out manoeuvred, he went into this thinking he will do a surgical strike - kendrick was more shock and awe.

He seemed genuinely surprised at how many people dissed him on the first metro album, and how much of the industry hates him. I don't think he thought it would be a 20v1 versuing Kendrick, likely caught off guard by that. Also, I don't think i've seen one celebrity take drakes side, no 21/yatchty/lebron etc. not anyone.

I think push ups leaking was damaging, a lot of people thought it was AI, and even so, lot of peoples first listen was on the unfinished/rough track. He started on a bad foot.

I think he underestimated the amount of people in the public that don't like him, and didn't take into account the various fan bases of people he's beefing, will not be objective and take kendricks side.

I think he underestimated kendricks willingness to go full nuclear with twitter verses and tiktok allegations, I don't think even he thought kendrick would make a full song about it, a few bars maybe, but not a song.

I think this entire beef has helped everyones career except for drakes - it also sets a bad precedent for the future, anyone can diss drake/call him a pedo, most people will take their side.

As far as next steps, I don't think he can win the public influence back in this beef, they have all already made up the mind he lost. I don't think drake thought this is how this beef would end at all. Maybe he drops his own summer banger(s) later so he doesn't have to hear not like us everywhere. This is the write up to this point, who knows, he can always drop a scary hours pack with proof and win i suppose.

I think he lost the beef due to these missteps, but had the better songs and is the better artist. I also think the next album will be very inspired, scorpion is my top 3. I think he should re-evaluate his industry friends and other artists in general, as I said, not one person spoke out for him.

I get both sides of what y’all are saying. I find it hard to believe that Drake is gonna just tuck his tail and go silent now especially since he kind of did that with Push after TSOA. Luckily for him at that time, he had God’s Plan out, Nice For What out and was about to drop his album so he was able to focus on dropping that and promoting that. Just given how much he wanted to go back and forth with Kendrick, it’s hard for me to believe he’s just gonna bow out now.

However, I also understand the idea of Drake stepping away. I agree that he doesn’t really have anything to gain from this beef and I don’t really see how he shifts any narrative related to this beef. Clearly many in the industry are tired of him and the general public are rocking with Kendrick too. It’s hard to see a path to how he wins this beef at this point.

Still though… I just don’t see him just folding and moving on. I’m not sure if it’s smart to re-engage but I can’t see him thinking “oh well I guess I lost again, let me just move on”… something about that just doesn’t right especially this time around 🤷🏾‍♂️
