It was most likely because there was a holdup with the physical productions, and they need those available first week for the sales numbers.

Or they could’ve pushed back to avoid the Drake album, because around that time there was chatter he was gonna drop close to Cudi’s set date. Two days after Cudi announced the delay, Drake announced his first date of 9/22.
