Bottas is the perfect #2 for what Merc is doing right now. Good enough to hold his own is a top car and collect points for the WCC but not good enough to be a major challenge for HAM for WDC. And he doesn’t make a bunch of drama either.
Russell we’ll get his chance but let’s not act like he’s owed the spot when Merc has been collecting WDC and WCC hand over fist.

Yeah I fear Danny Ricciardo is a case of wrong place wrong time.
He gets into Red Bull off the back of their dominance with the new regulations introduced. He ends up being stuck competing against the greatest driver of all time (HAM) and an absolutely dominate team in Merc.
His team, Red Bull, gets the young guy (VER) who they are making him the forefront and openly support more than him.
He’s left to either be a #2 at RBR or go somewhere else to compete in the midfield. Really no good option. He took the money from Renault. Seems like it ended up decent since he got the McLaren seat.
Got to hope that the new 2022 regulations pull the pack closer together and McLaren nails them or else ha hopes of being a WDC are 100% over.
