his stuff is kind of avant-garde indie rock mixed with some hiphop and some atmospheric stuff, very creative and unique tbh

Rocky still thinks he is in the league of artists like Kanye, Kendrick, Frank etc... until he can't accept the fact that he is NOT the music won't gonna bang. Don't misunderstand me, i really like his older s***, but he is getting ridiculous with these artsy slow songs and trash rollouts. Feels like he is trying to be somebody he is not but that's just my opinion.
it almost makes me sick the stupid s*** I read here sometimes, pertaining to why or how an artist makes certain musical choices

this isn’t spot on it’s projection based on your perception of the artist, I might think some s*** sucks but I’ll never say they’re not being true to themselves unless there is real evidence of that or they themselves offer that, this is how y’all talk about music?

Rocky music has felt like he’s cosplaying as an avant-garde rapper for years
I’m sure he really wants to be be one and his intentions are pure, but the execution just isn’t there so it looks awkward.
It seems like he’s trying to make music for a crowd that’ll eat that type of s*** up, but it’s not doing anything for some of us.

I can respect that he tries to do new things and experiments, but when the experiments go wrong, why do it again?
Also we don’t think he’s being phony at all. We just think he wants to be something that he’ll simply never be. It’s a pointless endeavor
Anyways, this is a non issue if same problems is not an album single. Seems like it’s just something he dropped for yams day which is fine

I didn't say the lyrics or the meaning behind the song is dishonest, I see what he is trying to do with this. My problem is the execution , this slow minimalistic blonde type singing is just not working out for him. Dude got Tyler, Miguel and Thundercat credited , you would expect something more exciting or creative.

Rocky has to has one of the most disaspointing careers in rap. He hasnt been that guy since 2015. Testing was mid and the singles he has dropped since then are also ass.
