"obviously against the sexualization of young girls"

    Based on what?

Nigga this is the whole point of the movie if u go look past the stupid american cover arts

Its a show about a young black muslim girl that experiences a really controlling and repressive mindset towards her femininity at home and an extremely oversexualized mindset on social media and popular culture. This is supposed to show you guys the kind of confusing lives black muslim women face growing up because they go through both of the extreme ends of our mindset towards young girls femiminity.

Youtube is definitely not mainly for kids the argument can be made for Tik Tok because majority of its user base is probably kids, but Youtube was never just a place for kids.

and i know you’re not trying to make it out like if a video has colors and dancing it’s directed towards kids are colors and dancing childish, y’all??

of course not , but the video features dances to be replicated on tiktok and the same type of imagery that's disguised as being kid friendly

my younger cousin favorite's show for example is we bare bears he's 8

this is one of the artworks from 6ix9ine feat Nicki Minaj song

kids started listening to more sexualized tracks when we were 14/15 and its the time kids start discovering themselves , I lost my virginity at 14 , looking at it now it was way to early

now they are 8 and are already being pushed this type of s***

You seen the trailer? This is definitely not the tone, its not even-handed like the way youre describing it here

If it was, the like/dislike ratio wouldnt be so abysmal

Dude this is how outrage marketing works

Do the most to create some outrage and give some eyes to the product and then come back later when the clout has been amassed to explain why it isnt as bad as they made it seem

The movie is literally made by a black muslim woman to describe what she and ppl like her went through in their lives growing up

    Yep

Last thing, just to illustrate my point better, this is a movie about how some young girls are forced to wear a hijab when goin out but are singing out WAP when they’re with their friends bc its the cool thing on social media right now

It’s a look into the mixed signals about sexual and feminine identity these girls receive and how they can’t grow properly because they face the extremes instead of having a balanced healthy environment

that's not even the original poster , Netflix marketing is doing this s*** on purpose

  • Aug 20, 2020

Reminds me of when the trailer for Dear White People came out and you had a bunch of of white people instantly rushing to call it anti-white propaganda

Now people are calling this pedophilia propaganda

  • Aug 20, 2020

Either that or her intention was to make some hyper feminine movie for young girls with something that should be kept personal to themselves
It’s like a coming to age movie idea gone too wrong

  • Aug 20, 2020

There’s no excuse from this s*** and you’re f***in buggin if you see no issue knowing what we all know about Hollywood

Watching the trailer definitely makes traditional values seem oppressive and sexualiazation seem liberating which is a pretty slippery slope...and one filled with predators waiting to capitalize on that narrative.

  • Aug 20, 2020

Yeah dude black muslim girls live a confusing life honestly because they got 2 opposed lifestyle that they gotta adhere to and they gotta sometimes hide one from the other

And they also gotta juggle both to be accepted into society, they can’t be too sexual and feminine because they’re gonna get repercussions in their home but they can’t be too conservative because they’re gonna be casted out of the group of young girls they hang out with. And obviously that juggling doesn't lead to a great understanding of themselves.

Everyone understands pre - teens and teens start exploring that side of themselves at some point it’s inevitable BUT we live in a society with socially inept people and weirdos with no self control
