Surprised to see people hating on Coodie's parts. The alternative is some distant journalist putting together a bunch of Ye clips. This is his footage as well as Ye's, just look at how many times he's name checked by people in the clips. Makes it so much more personal and authentic.
The bit where Coodie's talking about how seeing Donda and Ye made him realise the influence his parents had on him was one of the most insightful parts.
This is laser focused on Ye but the little added bits from Coodie help make the doc about more than just Ye's story. That's what a good doc should do
Insane how this man dropped everything he had going to get this footage just for people to criticize his scenes which were less than 5 minutes smh

him taking a chance on Ye adds another great story to the doc. Doc could have easily ended with 'and a few years later Ye gave up'. It's special that his parts can capture the kind of people who get involved in other people's dreams early on when it's not a given how things will turn out.
only issue i had was the lack of cam hopefulyl he will show up in the next episode

Dead or Alive is such an underrated Ye production from this era
Just finished episode 1. Man. Inspiring to say the least. I can’t believe how much rejection he’s went through. Even after being successful with Blueprint 1 and the other beats.
I loved the one line “in Chicago we have a saying get in where you fit in, or make room”
Kanye made room. For himself. And for many other types of artists.

When people actually get cancelled it's for way more than what Ye does. Cancel culture is barely a real thing
It's mostly just a media circus. A lot of the time people get more famous after getting "cancelled" from all the attention. No wonder they wanna perpetuate it
No one is cancelling people like Chappelle/Rogan/Ye. Have no idea why people go on and on about it
facts dababy not even cancelled anymore he's booked back on festivals lol
and he's nowhere the fame level as Ye
The only problem I have with the documentary so far is that the closed caption is way off
Whoever wrote it doesn't understand "Hov" or "Kanye to the"
Sorry if this has already been asked before but whatever happened to Nico and all his footage? I’m assuming there’s so much footage from other videographers that doesn’t appear at all here right?
So ep2 will have some of that fade to black footage for Hov's "retirement" right? 2 months after release of Through The Wire.
Will we have the Carlene conversation and Kanye not being invited on stage to spit it?
This first episode is basically just a recap of last call, so inspiring
The whole time I was checking stuff off in my head that was in Last Call & happened here lmao so dope
