it’s a crime coodie cut out a lot of the studio sessions, would watch ye produce for hours tbh
Idk if it was this thread or the one in TV/Film section, but niggas were s***ting on me for saying this
"Nah, we like the New Years Party footage and seeing him go to a restaurant after his dental surgery"
this basically turns into "i miss the old kanye: a documentary" by the end
which is fine but it shouldve been marketed as one persons take on kanye rather than the definitive kanye doc
I dont know how I feel about the whole pray for ye angle this episode not that I disagree with the sentiment but more so cause you didn't really see anyone challenge him on stuff like coodie response to ye saying he's running for president. But I guess everyone was scared
"If you can conceive and believe you can achieve"
like tell this nigga it's not a good idea
Coodie got a horrible voice too. Sounds like Dave Chappelle impersonating Morgan Freeman
Right now I need you to mute all the monologue
All that talking is gon' give me a Tylenol
You put a nigga to sleep, I'm tired of yall
But overall amazing documentary from coodie perspective on his time with ye. Crazy to think this not even close to everything that makes up ye's career
skimming thru it but it's interesting. rhymest is an interesting guy. you can tell he's a pensive person
him talking about earth being a multiverse and mushrooms are the internet so we shouldn't be spending so much time looking for life outside earth because life outside earth is traveling interdimensionally was cool lol
the dude asked some interesting questions too. thanks for sharing
https://player.vimeo.com/video/193455567 what happened to this doc
Ye has so much footage to cover up the missing 07 to 16 and 16 to 2020 footage

Yes no problem. I found those talking points extremely interesting as well lol
Watched the full thing last night.
I would have preferred it being a 3 part documentary on College Dropout. Act 3 feels like it comes out of nowhere and has nothing to really do with the themes of the first 2 parts.
Making it just focus on the creation of CD would have been a lot more interesting for both casual and hardcore fans since most already know of what Kanye is now. Ironically I think Last Call presents the story more interestingly in 9 minutes than this does in 3 hours. Would have loved to see more insight into why he made these songs, Slow Jamz going number 1, the album leaking ahead of time etc.
Having it all end on the “Guess we’ll never know” Grammy speech would have been a GOAT ending.
But I get it, it’s not supposed to just be Kanye’s documentary but about Coodie’s view of it all, but it felt like it wasn’t willing to go full in on either aspect.
Part 3 is really dark imo... the story is not over yet... Still unfolding in real time. I just hope he finds his hope again.
Just be grateful there's no footage of him recording Dj Khaled son or at least wasn't put in here
man i’m not in the headspace to watch this
i feel like act 3 is gonna be painful
Act 3 is pretty cringe on ye and pretty s***ty editing wise for Coodie
Rather have not watch part 3 at all
i liked it because it's clear it's from one persons POV, as opposed to documentaries that try and mask that and present everything as facts
Since Ye has all the footage, it would be dope to get a different director’s take on a different era.
Nico was there during the heat of the Wyoming/Yandhi/Jesus Is King arc

He did say “first documentary” 👀
