this documentary should be one 2 hour film comprised of stuff from Part 1 and 2. It should be the tale of The College Dropout and that’s it. Coodie didn’t get enough footage to properly understand Ye’s other eras and tries to hastily sum them up through mostly footage already on YouTube.

i think the impulse to try and cover the entire timeline and fill gaps doesnt work because result is just something achievable in a fan video type thing. Whereas I do like that with regards to the footage that he does have, especially in act 3, it is basically just put together without forcing an arc or theme on it too much, so you just see one episode/session after another like going through an archive (because he basically gave up on trying to make sense of it) and I really dig the vibe of that. it's super chill. and especially given how complicated the up and down years post 2016 have been, it's better off not forcing some commentary on it

Omfg get it through your skull this isn’t just a documentary about Kanye it’s a documentary about Coodie’s relationship and experience following Kanye. If they just inserted an episode of a bunch of other footage that coodie didn’t have anything to do with it wouldn’t fit and wouldn’t be a part of the actual narrative.

that's not what I'm suggesting? Obviously that would suck. I'm not mad bout Coodie's part in the doc this is his life's work too. I'm saying it's f***ed up on Ye and his team's part that as much as Coodie believed in Ye, Ye didn't seem to believe in Coodie or the value of the work he was putting in to document Ye's career, he left him out of some of his most important moments

2>1>3. That scene with all the old white men in suits gave me a really off vibe. You can tell they 100% don't know what to make of Ye. So cool to see the Kids See Ghosts sessions. The ending of episode 3 felt a little abrupt. I'm glad Ye finally gave Coodie his dues for the doc, it's great.

tucker carlson, regardless of who he is/represents, spoke more accurately about kanye and his speech than anyone. even people in our culture

I get he can say a few wild things at times, but the 2 times he cut him off he wasn't saying anything crazy at all?

i think once he was talking about being treated like deadpool by the media and his limbs coming back (him recovering etc) - and the other time he was just defending his abortion comments

just seems strange to completely cut off, you even saw him lower the camera. Surely you would just record it anyway, and then cut it out later if it did start to go crazy??

It’s crazy how a funny a***ogy like the Deadpool one is where people will often draw the line. Whenever a “crazy” man says something funny, it’s like oh, that’s our chance to laugh at the clown.

I doubt he said the wrong name on purpose, i mean it was prob bc he was drunk. but it was def a sign he was a different person than when they were together every day

I don't think he tries to hastily sum them up

I think this documentary is perfect to show his relationship to donda from the perspective of someone with him from day 1. it truly shows the major impact her death had on him.

You can't end it at college dropout because you wouldn't see the main point (imo) of the doc. You have to see the before and after.
