Yea and went onto fully expound on his position… you’re just getting caught up on buzzwords. That itself is a joke in full context.

Imma fully expound on my position...by being even more transphobic

Aye man you know what? You got it b.

  • Circlesainterlude

This take is so weird to me, go back to the most famous comedians and they always got political . Richard Pryor talked about black people getting shot all the time and other troubles the community was going through. Why when it’s this other community every joke is an attack

Yeah but they have variety and have funny jokes.

Dave ran this s*** to the ground with the worst special out of the netflix series lol

youre just exemplifying the the entire issue of the special. Niggas just talking and acting out without actually having watched what you’re supposedly outraged about.

I've watched the special. It's really not as complex as y'all truly think it is.

  • Oct 14, 2021

If it ain’t complex then why are you steady getting mad at buzzwords?

i ain't gonna spend an hour or whatever on this but i just read the transcript and it was somewhat emotionally manipulative in an annoying way but it really was not anywhere near being some hateful screed

That is a horrible way to digest comedy.

i mean for the moment i just want to know what he said that was allegedly so hateful and capable of inciting violence, the transcript is sufficient to uncover evidence of that

Dave saying he's a trans-exclusionary radical feminist is apparently peak comedy.

Alot of this also stems from people tryna tell trans people what is and isn't transphobic, and what they should and shouldn't be offended by.

If a trans person is telling you they are offended by what you say, and what you say is rallying transphobes into more of a transphobic frenzy where they use your rhetoric as a meat shield in essence...you don't think that maybe you should take a step back and really a***yze the things that you are saying?

Also going the "Trans people just make up words to win arguments" route is extremely wild, considering that's the same kinda rhetoric racist politicians would use towards educated Blacks during the Jim Crow era and even continuing into this day. This whole notion that "You're not smart you're just making up words!" is wildly offensive, dismissive, and further shows your ignorance and unwillingness to learn. Hence, Dave Chappelle becoming the very thing he'd frequently speak out against.

"TERF" is an acronym for trans exclusionary radical feminist. Let's look at two words in that "trans exclusion". Exclusion of trans...literally meaning you are anti-trans people. And people have the nerve to say "That's not transphobic!"

What are you rehtarded? Do you now know what words mean?

well the "trans-exclusionary" appellation was not coined by the people who are now considered "TERFs," it was imposed upon them by people who disagreed with their radical feminist ideology

you can't really say "you're transphobic and i can prove it because of the name your opponents gave you because they think you're transphobic"

chappelle doesn't really know much about that internet s***fight, or the incredible vitriolic violent hatred of "TERFs," ofc, he just knows that he agrees with their opinion about gender

I'm not calling him transphobic solely because he identifies as a TERF. I'm calling him transphobic based on the things he has said in this particular special along with other specials where he starts speaking about trans people.

Like this seems to be a running issue when it comes to Chappelle. Him saying something transphobic, trans people being rightfully offended by it, and then his fanbase telling trans people to get over it, while also using being wildly transphobic, and feigning intellectual superiority on the grounds of "You guys didn't even watch the special!" The special is only an hour and some change long. It's not like this is some entire TV show with like 12-15 hour long episodes. It can be completed in a single sitting. Many people have watched it already.

This is now the third time we've been hearing about "Transgender people offended by Dave Chappelle jokes on trans people". After awhile, it makes you look at Chappelle and wonder what exactly is his true goal is in constantly talking about and making fun of trans people? Yes, in comedy everybody can get it. But there are lines that you can, but likely shouldn't, cross as you start drifting into a territory that isn't comedy. It borders the line of hate speech and/or spreading hateful rhetoric. If a group of people who have been fans of your work in the past are now saying "Hey, you're being offensive" it's time to take a step back, and simply apologize. Chappelle pushing back against this is only making him look weird, and it's only giving some more credence to the claims that he is transphobic, if what he was saying in the special and his previous specials were not enough evidence of it.

It's just strange to me how whenever he starts drifting off into transphobic waters, he's always quick to bring up "Hey y'all! It's okay! I have an acquaintance who is trans so I'm not transphobic!" Like...that's not how it works b. And growing up seeing how he'd discuss white people who are racist despite knowing and being friends with Black people...he knows that isn't how it works. It's also pretty vile how he keeps bringing up this trans acquaintance of his...despite them being dead, having killed themselves from stress of having their child taken away from them along with other s*** brought on by them being a trans person. And he ain't even attend their funeral. But that's an entirely different kinda story.
