Massive protests erupt in Nepal after blanket social media ban. 19 protestors were killed prior to the burning of the presidential palace and other government buildings. Prime Minister Sharma Oli resigned earlier today following the burnings. The social media ban has been lifted.

From my very light reading my understanding is the social media ban was the straw that broke the camels back after years of corruption. Seems like the killings are what led to the burnings though. Somebody who knows more about the situation can feel free to fill me in and I'll add more details to OP.
