Massive protests erupt in Nepal after blanket social media ban. 19 protestors were killed prior to the burning of the presidential palace and other government buildings. Prime Minister Sharma Oli resigned earlier today following the burnings. The social media ban has been lifted.
calling it simply a social media ban is an extreme downplay of the nepal government killing 20 students for protesting

Thought the protests started as a result of the social media ban, no? Wasn't trying to downplay anything my fault

From my very light reading my understanding is the social media ban was the straw that broke the camels back after years of corruption. Seems like the killings are what led to the burnings though. Somebody who knows more about the situation can feel free to fill me in and I'll add more details to OP.
just another tuesday
Wasn’t there another presidential palace that burned down this year? Or maybe last year lol

im definitely a pedestrian on this issue too but i think you summed it up pretty well
Nepal seems to literally be crumbling before our eyes. Banks are looted and courts burned down
Even the ex PM's wife got burned alive during a house fire
