    Tribute post for Danny Whitten

Neil's rhythm guitarist in the first formation of Crazy Horse. laid down the most amazingly sparse backing for Neil to go on his epic excursions like Cowgirl in the Sand and Down by the River easily one of the all time best and most unique lead/rhythm duos. Unfortunately he got deep into heroin (Needle And The Damage Done etc were about him) and Neil had to kick him out of the band. He was a great singer/writer himself and managed one great album with the Horse before he overdosed and it's amazing

No Other is not Byrds its Genes ridiculously over the top 1974 magnum opus... Production worthy of Brian and Phil you definitely should give it a spin. He was channeling Neil as hard as possible on epics like this (basically Cowgirl in the Sand part 2)

And even at his early stages gene could lay down the most stunning ballad. True poetry here surprised you feel Brian so deep but not this.

    that’s nice

a lil too slow but the guitar solo sounds dope and the production has great flavor

sounds familiar tho someone prolly already tried to put me into it years ago (most likely for the same reasons you brought)
