I’m not opposed to the “x looked better than y, so x is better until proven otherwise” argument, but the majority of the season points to Oregon being better, and you COULD (I wouldn’t) make the argument Oregon lost that game because of a couple brain dead Lanning decisions

The committee is lucky that Oregon-Washington can naturally resolve itself, or they were going to really be in some s*** between those two and Alabama-Texas

yea i guess i just don't put really any stock into what teams do against bad competition, and that playing down to competition (without losing tho, big stipulation) is not a sign of trending downward, or at the very least doesnt automatically mean a team is trending downward.

The only truly bad teams they scraped by were Arizona State and Stanford. And that looks bad because Oregon dominated both of those teams

Other than that Washington has played a tough schedule, and they haven't looked as dominant as we'd like but it's not like they've lost

The problem I have with this situation in particular is that this game deciding the Pac-12 CFP representative pretty much invalidates the regular season. Washington's win over Oregon is rendered meaningless if they rematch, Oregon wins, the season series is 1-1, but Oregon gets into the CFP because they won later in the season

I'm so glad we're moving to a 12 team format. There are so many flaws with the 4 team model

And don't even get me started on the committee's handling of Texas and Alabama completely disincentivizing teams from ever scheduling tough non-conference games
